Unspoken message of involvement

An inclusive culture can be a powerful thing in a business.

Involving people more – what effect can it have?

Involve young staff when visitors come round – ask them to talk to the visitor.  Give an opportunity to a junior person to visit a client, partner or a supplier.

What’s the message you are giving off to that employee?

“I trust you to represent the company – to show yourself off as responsible individual.  I’m taking a risk with you because I think you are worth it.”

Involve a cross-company group of people in a decision rather than making it by yourself.

What message are you giving off?

“I think you have a worthwhile contribution to make to this decision and I am willing to listen to it and take it seriously.”

The unspoken message of involvement is a powerful one.
