As we grow, an exciting new opportunity will open up in April for a Telephone Sales Executive to join our team. This role – based at our central St Albans office – is a vibrant full-time role at the heart of our team. The main functions will be to help to grow our expanding customer base and book course places as well as ensure that our existing clients are receiving the best possible service from us.

Impellus is a well-respected, fast-growing provider of management training courses based in bright, modern offices in the centre of St Albans. As part of our expansion we’re looking to recruit professional, dedicated Sales Executives to join the sales team that we’re building.
With over 200 courses run each year, the company is known for delivering high-value training to Managers at all levels across its 15 UK venues and through client premises. The role involves making and receiving a high volume of sales enquiries from potential clients and existing customers. All bookings and client needs must be qualified correctly and booking opportunities maximised.
- New business opportunities will be generated by inbound enquiries, telephone appointments made by our in-house lead generation team or targeted calling campaigns
- Existing customers will need to be account managed to identify new opportunities and maintain ongoing relationships
Successful candidates will need to be able to communicate effectively, convey our values and be motivated by hitting targets which are well rewarded financially.
The following activities are essential to the success of this role:
- Convert inbound sales enquiries
- Make and convert outbound sales opportunities (the majority of which will be pre-qualified)
- Qualifying requirements and budgets
- Managing a pipeline of prospective clients
- Ensure all clients have paid their invoices before attending courses
- Following up existing clients to establish future requirements
- Ensuring that all courses fill evenly
- Liaising internally to ensure good communications throughout the business
- Ensuring the achievement of the company’s sales targets
- Keep good records of your activities
Full training will be provided
Remuneration and terms
A full-time contract of employment with a three-month probationary period is offered. There are 25 days holiday given every year on top of all weekends and statutory bank holidays.
Basic salary: £22,000 pa
Commission: Monthly bonuses
OTE: £27,000 pa (uncapped and highly geared at the top end)
Plus additional incentives or team bonuses as may be announced from time to time.
